Péle Lunchbox (1975)Edson Arantes do Nascimento, born to a poor family on Oct. 23, 1940, in Tres Coracoes, Brazil assumed the name of Péle and became a sports legend. In 1999, the National Olympics Committee voted him as the Athlete of the Century. Manufactured by the King Seeley Thermos Company in 1975, this pristine lunchbox celebrates Pele coming out of retirement that same year to play for the New York Cosmos of the old North American Soccer League, the predecessor of the modern Major League Soccer. Interestingly, this is also one of the first items aimed at children to feature a black superstar. Both the lunchbox and thermos are in immaculate condition. The coupons and warranty card are still in a sealed plastic envelope. You can't find a lunchbox in better condition! Click on inset to see backside. Shipping Weight: 4 lbs.
