In 1970, Tootsie Roll Industries aired the now-famous spot, when a boy asks Mr. Owl, "How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?" Mr. Owl takes the Tootsie Pop, licks three times, bites off the candy, and answers, "Three." before handing the barren lollipop stick back to the boy.
